About the event

Join us for a special event where we will walk together to Trafalgar Square's Fourth Plinth to view the installation titled "Mil Veces un Instante."

This unique piece, created by the talented Mexican artist Teresa Margolles, features a collection of masks depicting the faces of transgender and non-binary individuals, symbolising inclusivity and diversity.

After viewing the installation, we will gather for a quiz at Retro Bar. Sign-up here for the quiz!

About the Installation:

Mil Veces un Instante” ("A Thousand Times in an Instant") features 726 life masks of transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming individuals—363 from Mexico and 363 from London. Cast in plaster, the masks, displayed inside-out in a cube, contain traces of the participants, such as makeup and facial features, and will gradually decompose over two years. This process symbolises the transformation and visibility of these often-marginalised lives.
