About the event

Join us this Pride month as we visit the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt, displayed for the first time in its entirety, at the Tate Modern. The quilt, comprised of 42 quilts and 23 individual panels, represents approximately 384 people affected by HIV and AIDS in the UK. The quilt acts as an important reminder of those who died before the introduction of antiretrovirals, and that the AIDS and HIV pandemic is still going; that what is remembered lives, and that the fight for life continues globally, and here in the UK.  

 

We will also have a meeting spot, where you can leave your bags and meet other people attending the exhibition. The space will be open throughout the opening hours of the exhibition, with a social space to discuss and reflect, and a silent space if you need to sit with your thoughts. This is a space for…
