Proudly King's x King's Volunteering; Just Like Us Solidarity Patch Workshop

Embroidered Solidarity Patch Workshops (May 9th and 16th 3-5pm)

Proudly King's and King's Volunteering have teamed up to offer a fun and creative two-part embroidery workshop led by the talented Rosanna McNamara to create embroidered solidarity patches to gift to volunteers at LGBTQIA+ youth charity, Just Like Us.

In session one on May 9th, Rosanna will guide you through the basics of embroidery, teaching you essential stitches and techniques to create beautiful designs. Then, in session two on May 16th, you will complete your patches with Rosanna on hand to provide additional assistance. Both sessions will be held in Bush House, all crafting items and designs will be provided and the workshops are free to attend. Please note that you must be available to attend both sessions.

We encourage all attendees to use their Service Time to participate. Everyone employed by King’s can choose to spend up to three days (or 21 hours) per year volunteering for a cause of their choice. More information about Service Time can be found on the Service Time webpage.

Just Like Us are one of King's Volunteering's partner charities, dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ young people. Just Like Us will distribute these badges to their volunteer ambassadors, who will proudly wear them during their storytelling sessions at school events. You can find out more about their work on their website and a representative from Just Like Us will be joining the second session on May 16th to speak to you about their valuable work and how you can get involved further.
